Sample Data
Learn how to trial Licenseware using built-in sample data or by uploading raw data manually. Includes setup steps, Oracle upload instructions, and important restrictions on mixing data types across projects.
Licenseware offers two ways to explore the platform using trial data:
-
Load built-in sample data
-
Manually upload sample files for a full processing experience
This guide walks you through both methods and shows how to access various reports, including Oracle, Microsoft, Java, and infrastructure.
Option 1: Load Built-in Sample Data
During Registration
-
Sign up for a Licenseware account - find the relevant instance here:
https://help.licenseware.io/how-to-create-an-account -
On the registration screen, tick the checkbox:
✅ Load sample data for my account -
Complete registration and verify your email.
Once verified and logged in, sample data will begin processing automatically. You’ll see reports generate under the Reports section shortly, including:
-
Microsoft Deployment Reports
-
Java Deployment Reports
-
Infrastructure (RVTools) Reports
If You Skipped Sample Data at Registration
You can still load sample data later by:
-
Navigating to the Projects section.
-
Click “Add new project”.
-
In the creation form, tick:
✅ Load sample data for my account
📌 Important:
⚠️ Projects that have had sample data pre-loaded cannot accept manual data uploads.
To trial raw data uploads (e.g. Oracle CSVs), create a new project without enabling sample data.
Option 2: Manual Sample Data Upload (Oracle Trial)
To simulate real-world data processing and access Oracle reports, you can manually upload anonymised sample files.
Step 1: Download Sample Data
Download the sample dataset here:
📎 SAMPLE DATA LINK
Unzip the file. You’ll see two folders:
-
ODBM – Oracle Database Manager
-
IFMP – Infrastructure Mapper (RVTools + CPU Queries)
Step 2: Upload to Oracle Database Manager (ODBM)
-
Go to the Apps section → Select Oracle Database Manager (ODBM).
-
Choose the Review Lite uploader.
-
Drag and drop the entire ODBM folder or all 30 .csv files.
-
Once validated, click Process.
This will generate the Oracle Database Usage report.
Step 3: Upload to Infrastructure Mapper (IFMP)
-
Still in the Apps section, open Infrastructure Mapper (IFMP).
-
First, select the Oracle CPU Queries uploader:
-
Upload the 10 .txt files from IFMP/Oracle_CPU_Queries
-
Click Process
-
-
Next, select the RVTools uploader:
-
Upload the included RVTools .xlsx file
-
Click Process
-
Once both are processed, you’ll gain access to the Consolidated Oracle Report.
Key Notes
-
The manual upload flow simulates the real experience of processing your own raw data.
-
All uploads follow the same structure: select uploader → drag & drop → process.
-
Trial mode may have limitations in report visibility.
-
Trial reports are only accessible in the project where the data was processed.
-
✅ Create a separate project for raw data uploads—do not reuse sample-data-loaded projects.
