Oracle Entitlements Baseline

The Oracle Entitlements Baseline Report provides a centralized view of all entitlement data uploaded through the Oracle Entitlements Manager.

The report segregates entitlements into database and non-database product categories, enabling clear visibility into license quantities and associated license metrics (e.g., Processor, Named User Plus, Application User).

Graphical Overview

The Graphical Overview section of the Oracle Entitlements Baseline Report presents two charts that visually break down entitlement quantities by product and license metric. This allows users to quickly assess how licenses are distributed across both database and non-database Oracle products.

Database Products by License Metric and Quantity

This chart displays Oracle Database-related entitlements segmented by license type. Each product is shown alongside its quantity, categorized by:

  • Processor (light blue)
  • Named User Plus (purple)

Common database products displayed include:

  • Oracle Database Enterprise Edition
  • Oracle Data Masking
  • Oracle Partitioning
  • Oracle Diagnostics Pack
  • Oracle Tuning Pack
  • Oracle Database Lifecycle Management Pack

This visualization helps identify which license metrics are most commonly used across your database estate and where entitlements are concentrated.

Non-Database Products by License Metric and Quantity

The second chart focuses on Oracle products outside the core database offering, such as middleware and enterprise applications. These products are segmented by:

  • Processor
  • Named User Plus
  • Application User (specific to non-database licenses)

Products shown may include:

  • Oracle WebLogic Suite
  • Oracle Hyperion Financial Management
  • Oracle Directory Services
  • Oracle Audit Vault
  • Oracle Database Gateway

This view enables broader entitlement visibility across Oracle’s non-database portfolio and highlights how different license types apply beyond core infrastructure.

License Baseline

The Tabular Breakdown section of the Oracle Entitlements Baseline Report provides a detailed, filterable view of all uploaded entitlement records. Each row represents a single entitlement entry and includes essential information needed for license reconciliation and compliance tracking.

Key Columns Displayed

  • Product Family: Categorizes whether the entitlement relates to a database or non-database product.
  • Product Category: Specifies the product grouping (e.g., Oracle Database, Enterprise Edition Options).
  • Product Name (Raw): The name of the licensed Oracle product, as provided in the uploaded entitlement file.
  • Quantity: The number of entitlements available for the product.
  • License Metric: Indicates whether the entitlement is based on metrics such as Processor, Named User Plus, or Application User.
  • License Level: Typically set to Full Use, representing unrestricted usage rights.
  • Restrictions: Any contractual limitations applicable to the entitlement (e.g., Full Use, Limited Use).
  • Active Support: A boolean field (true/false) showing whether the entitlement has active support coverage.

Functionality Highlights

  • Search and Filter: Use the built-in search bar and filter controls to quickly locate specific products or license types.
  • Column Customization: Toggle column visibility using the "Hide columns" option for a personalized view.
  • Data Integrity: Values displayed reflect the original uploaded data, ensuring traceability to your entitlement source files.

Owned Licenses

The Owned Licenses section presents a normalized summary of entitlement data based on Licenseware's internal product recognition engine. Once the raw entitlement CSV is uploaded, product names are matched against standardized Oracle nomenclature and grouped accordingly to deliver a consolidated, de-duplicated view.

Recognition and Grouping Logic

  • Product Matching: Uploaded product names are parsed and matched to Oracle-recognized product identifiers to ensure consistency across reports and calculations.
  • Normalization: Variations in product naming (e.g., “Oracle DB EE” vs. “Oracle Database Enterprise Edition”) are resolved into a single standardized label.
  • Grouping: If multiple entitlements for the same product exist with the same license metric (e.g., Processor), quantities are automatically aggregated into a single row for easier tracking.

Table Columns

  • Product Name: The recognized Oracle product name after normalization.
  • License Metric: The applicable metric for the entitlement (e.g., Processor, Named User Plus, Application User).
  • Licenses Owned: The total number of licenses owned for each recognized product, combining matching entries across the upload.

ODBM Specific Entitlement

The ODBM Specific Entitlement section displays a refined subset of entitlement data that is directly applicable to Oracle Database Manager (ODBM). This view is purpose-built to support license reconciliation by aligning entitlement quantities with deployment requirements calculated in ODBM.

Purpose of This View

  • Mapped Entitlements: Only entitlements relevant to ODBM’s deployment analysis are shown. These are matched using Licenseware’s recognition engine based on product name and metric compatibility.
  • Effective License Position Input: The figures displayed here are those that will be used in the calculation for the Oracle Database Effective License Position.
