Microsoft 365 Optimisation Report
Datasources lists every source that brings data into your project, and which apps use each one. Open it from the sidebar.

| Kind | What it is | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| API | A live connection to another tool. Licenseware pulls data from it automatically on a schedule. | Microsoft Graph, Lansweeper Cloud, NinjaOne |
| File Upload | A file you export or fill in yourself and upload, such as a Licenseware template or a tool export. | SIM - Template, RVTools, Oracle GLAS |
Use the API and File Upload filters at the top to show one kind, or All for both. Each filter shows how many sources it holds.
Each row shows:
- The source’s name and its latest activity, for example Uploaded 4 months ago, Last upload failed 7 weeks ago, or Connect to start syncing for an API connection that isn’t set up yet.
- A green Configured badge once an API connection is set up, with when it last synced.
- A Needs Attention badge when something has gone wrong, with the reason underneath, such as Disabled: Failed to authenticate with Lansweeper API.
- The apps the source feeds, as badges on the right, such as SIM, IFMP or MDM.

Type in Search datasources to narrow the list. The filter counts update to match.

Click an API connection to open its page. This example is Microsoft Graph, which brings in Intune and Entra devices, Intune app inventory and Microsoft 365 licenses, and feeds IFMP, SIM and MDM.

The top of the page shows:
- Last Sync, and how many Devices and Software Installs the source brought in.
- Sync Schedule: API connections sync automatically twice a week, Mon & Wed at 22:00 UTC.
- The connection’s settings, such as the Microsoft Tenant ID for Microsoft Graph. Stored values stay hidden.
- Documentation: the setup guide for this source.
Buttons
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sync Now | Starts a sync straight away instead of waiting for the next scheduled one. |
| Update Credentials | Opens the connection’s credentials so you can replace them. |
| Verify Connection | Checks that Licenseware can connect with the credentials it has stored. |
| Reset data | Removes everything this data source has imported. The connection itself stays. |
| Delete Integration | Removes the connection’s configuration together with the devices it brought in. |
Runs
The Runs table lists every sync, newest first, with when it Started, its Type, such as Scheduled sync, and its Status, such as Synced. Filter, download or expand the table from the icons at its top right.
Feed Errors
Feed Errors collects the errors the source reported while syncing. Expand it when a run didn’t complete or the data looks incomplete.
Microsoft Graph Last Sync Endpoints
For Microsoft Graph, this table breaks the last sync down by the Microsoft Graph endpoint it read from, such as users, subscribed_skus and activity_report. Each row shows the endpoint’s Status, how many Records Fetched, and any Error. Use it to see which part of a sync failed.
Fix a connection that needs attentionWhen a sync fails, the source shows Needs Attention and the reason, both on its page and in the Datasources list. In this example, Lansweeper Cloud could no longer authenticate.

- Click Update Credentials.
- Enter the credential again, such as the Application identity code for Lansweeper. Stored values stay hidden, so enter the value even if it hasn’t changed: A value is stored. Enter it again to keep it when you save.
- Click Verify connection to test it, then Save credentials.

Each source has its own setup guide, for example Lansweeper, Microsoft Graph, NinjaOne and RVTools. For uploading files, see Upload & manage data.
