Oracle WebLogic Server Deployment

Oracle WebLogic Server Deployment is the WebLogic decision: which edition is installed, whether the domain is eligible for WebLogic Basic, and how many processors the edition needs if it is not. Basic eligibility is the difference between a restricted license and a full one.

Open it from Apps, then Oracle Middleware Manager, on the Reports tab.

Oracle WebLogic Server Deployment at a glance, with editions and processors by edition

  • Overview is the size of the WebLogic estate.
  • WebLogic Editions splits the edition.
  • Oracle Processors by WebLogic Editions is the processor requirement on each edition.

WebLogic Basic Eligibility is the device, product, domain, whether it is eligible, and the reasons. Eligibility is Yes, No or Unclear. Basic usually means limited feature use, no clustering, and a domain configuration that fits the restricted license. A missing deployment detail, or a failure to read the server, is Unclear or No, with the reason on the row. A reason that fails eligibility is a full license, not a note. Marking the eligible domains as Basic is how a mixed estate avoids licensing WebLogic Server Standard where Basic applies.

WebLogic Domain Configuration is the domain version, whether the domain is active, the config path, machines, clusters, whether clustering is in use, the running servers, and an insight. Clustering that is configured but not running can still change a WebLogic Suite requirement.

Apps Running on WebLogic Domains is the application, source path, and module type (.ear, .rar). Each module is either a standard Oracle application or a custom one. That split matters when someone claims limited or non-commercial use. The application is tied to the domain version.

Coherence Usage is called out on its own because Coherence is a separate requirement. An empty table means no Coherence was found on the scanned devices. That removes Coherence from the position, including an old configuration nobody meant to leave behind.

The wider middleware requirement is Oracle Fusion Middleware Deployment.
