What ODBM does and when to use it
Oracle Database Manager (ODBM) reads Oracle usage data and works out the database license requirement: editions, versions, options and packs, and whether that requirement is by processor or by Named User Plus.
Use it when an Oracle position is a list of servers, not a requirement:
- Which databases are installed, and which options are used rather than just present?
- How many processor licenses, or Named User Plus, does that use require?
- Where does that requirement sit against the entitlements you uploaded?

Open it from Apps, then Oracle Database Manager. The report cards are Oracle Database Consolidated, Oracle Database Usage and Oracle Effective License Position.
Host and cluster placement comes from Infrastructure Mapper. The owned quantities come from the Oracle entitlements in License and Contracts Manager. ODBM reads running options and features in use, including cloned and historical usage, checks that the evidence fits the database version, and reconciles that with the infrastructure so the requirement is a deployment, not a server list.
Run the Oracle database collector when you do not already have an integration that carries the databases. Oracle GLAS, an LMS export, Review Lite (CSV) and the Options Packs and Usage Statistics script (.txt, .out, .info) are file fallbacks. The list is Sources ODBM accepts.
